EDNA MODE !!! We Just Love her …

There are Christmas trees still up and lit in the Pepsi Forum today. And the Christmas decorations are still up at Alexis Nihon Plaza right up the street from home. I don’t know how long they will be up seeing the holidays are over, which leads me to today’s entry.

Last night after the meeting I had to do some supermarket safari. I got what I needed and headed for the express check out. And it was a busy night. I see the same people whenever I go to Provigo. Downtown shopping is different that suburbia shopping.

For most people, you shop for a few days or maybe a weeks time. We, on the other hand, shop sometimes daily. We don’t keep lots of food unless we buy bulk, when it is available. And that can be hit and miss depending on the stock in the store.

But that’s not what I am focusing on at the moment. We are a few days into the New Year and the holidays ended just a few days ago. And I have to say that the stock elves have been very busy as of late transforming store shelves to the next big holiday or two on the calendar.

I am standing in line last night and the impulse purchase wall is right there in front of the cash. And they hit both of them in one fell swoop. There were nice heart shaped boxes of Valentines Day candy along side boxes of “Chocolate Bunnies” for Easter, which doesn’t come until the 8th of April.

I mean, really…

Really …

REALLY !!!

I think they expect us to start stocking up on and eating massive amounts of candy over the next few months, you think???

*** *** *** ***

It is a cold day in the neighborhood. We are sitting at a brisk (-12c/w.c. -21c).

I spent some time working with others this afternoon at my favorite deli here at the mall. It was time well spent. Working steps are important. And I am grateful for the time to spend with friends.

Nothing else is planned for tonight.

Talk to you soon. Good evening from Montreal.
