Today has been a blustery day in the neighborhood. It has been raining cats, dogs and little fishes. I attended the first day of Word Camp and got a few shots of the man about Word Press, Matt… It was a good day, like I said earlier. The staff pulled out all the stops in providing for us as community. Do you know what it is like to be in a room with genius brains, Matt and his friends were stellar presenters.
And Community is something that I kept hearing over and over again throughout the days talks. Everybody works for the betterment of the greater good. Everybody works to bring us a good client that works, is relaible and that can evolve over time. There was a good complement of people from Montreal and some folks from out of town. I think that day one was a success and we all had fun meeting and greeting.
I didn’t stay for the afternoon session, it started raining and I came home and got into bed for a nap since I was up with the birds this morning. Tomorrow will be another day of talks so I will update that tomorrow.
I’ve been mulling over what it means to be a graduate student. There has been a dynamic shift in my brain. We are playing with the big boys and girls now. Undergraduate work is finished. I committed to this a long time ago, since I knew that I was headed in this direction over a year ago. And ‘Trinity’ was my initiation into taking a class with graduate students in class. I guess I could say that I have been in class with graduate students before in former classes, but I know that “Trinity” forced me to expand my brain and start thinking on a larger stage. It was the most challenging class I had taken in the last year.
Having class taught by the elite of the department bring with it certain challenges. And in the end I pulled out a good grade – I have yet to read my paper after it was graded. My profs are in Europe till the end of August. I have yet to finish my 30 page paper which I have been working on for the last week.
I guess that’s it for now…
More to come, stay tuned…
The Guru of Word Press
Today was the first day of Word Camp Montreal. The morning sessions were very informative and interesting. Word Press went out of their way to have us enjoy a great day. From Hospitality to the food that was provided, it was all top knotch…
The 1 p.m. session was questions with Matt… I indulged myself with photos of Matt and this last one with me. A good time was had by all … Tomorrow is day two of the Montreal event, which I will be attending.
More to come, stay tuned …
I logged into my account tonight and was reading the June wrap up and at the bottom of the page was listed this event, here in my little own city. How exciting. Some of my blogger friends are on the attendee list already – it will be a fun time for all. Log Into WordPress.com and check it out if you are in the city, or coming to a city near you.
