The weekend is quickly coming to an end. And it has been a scorcher. One should not complain about the heat because in a short few weeks the seasons will begin to change once again. It was humid and steamy when I left for the church.
Thankfully the hall is about ten degrees cooler than it is outside, yet I still broke a sweat cranking out chairs and tables. I sat outside and people watched for a bit before retreating back inside.
We finished the chapter “To Employers” finally. We sat a modest group tonight and everybody seemed to be in a good place. But we were missing a number of regulars.
Here at home, things are getting tedious. I don’t enjoy living on a shoestring budget and not knowing whether we will be able to buy groceries on any given day, and it seems hubby isn’t in a hurry to procure a job like he said he would.
We haven’t discussed my dismay yet, as I don’t want to provoke an argument, but something has to give, we can’t go on living as we have been living the last month.
He has been wrapped up in trivial matters in the U.S. that have nothing to do with our lives here where he could better be using his time to find a job and start living up to his word. It has been more than a year we have been waiting for him to rise to the occasion and do something other than sit on the couch and stare at a laptop.
There is food in the fridge and stuff to eat and drink. So that’s a good thing. I am just not sure where our next meal is going to come from. Or whether we will have money to survive the rest of the month.
Gotta be grateful in any case.
More to come, stay tuned …
